Cocons i Salines. The Salt of Menorca offers an overview of the production and uses of salt, beginning with the primordial cocó salt—the only salt produced on the island for millennia—and leading up to the establishment of the first salt pans by Greek traders during the British dominion of the 18th century.

We will learn about the history of the salt pans and the hardworking salt workers, as well as the restoration—respectful
of both the environment and traditional materials—of the Salines de la Concepción in the port of Fornells, which today yield splendid harvests of fleur de sel. All of this is generously accompanied by photographs, maps, a glossary, and the salt-related toponymy of Menorca.
